Hi Michael,

It should be possible, yes. It should look for the images (or sounds 
etc.) relative to the .tterm or .tldict file by default, or relative 
to the path defined under 'Termbase/Properties' 'Sound/images path' 
(for TLex, this is under 'Dictionary/Properties'). If this property 
is left blank, then the image/sound files should be in the same 
folder as the .tterm file. If this property is set to e.g. 
"Images/", then it will look in an "Images/" sub-folder relative to 
the tlTerm/TLex file. Let me know if that works for you.
