His hip hop musical Kingdom (music by Ian Williams) premiered at The Old Globe in 2009, and has been produced or developed by the Public Theater, ReVision Theatre, Queens Theatre in the Park, the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, the International Community Arts Festival in The Netherlands, John Jay College, and Bregamos Community Theatre. Awards for Kingdom include a 2008 Richard Rodgers Award from the American Academy of Arts & Letters, Best Musical and Best Book of 2008-09 by the New Jersey Star-Ledger, and Most Promising New Musical at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival.<br><br><br>KEVIN HOLDEN is the author of two books, "Alpine" (White Queen) and<br>"Identity" (Cannibal Books). His poetry has appeared widely in<br>magazines and journals and has been anthologized, most recently in<br>"The Arcadia Project" (Ahsahta Press). His translations of poetry from<br>Russian and French have also been published, most recently in<br>"Pyramid" and "Aufgabe." He received an MFA from Iowa in 2008, where<br>he then taught. He currently studies and teaches at Yale and is<br>working on a book about meaning in poetry, focusing especially on the<br>work of Paul Celan. He works also on ontology, the philosophy of<br>mathematics, art history, and queer theory. He is the editor of the<br>journal "Heliograph" and a teacher at the New Haven Free Skool.<br><br><br>GABRIEL CHRISTIAN, Hudson River born, is a performer and rising senior at Yale. Though he got his feet wet late, he hasn't left the stream since.
