Please join us for a poetry reading by African American poet Claudia 
Rankine on Wednesday, November 16th, at 4:00 pm at the Beinecke Rare Book 
and Manuscript Library, 121 Wall Street. A reception will follow; this 
event is free and open to the public. For additional information about the

Claudia Rankine is the author of collections of poetry including Don't Let 
Me Be Lonely (2004); PLOT (2001); The End of the Alphabet (1998); and 
Nothing in Nature is Private (1995), which received the Cleveland State 
Poetry Prize. She recently received the 2005 Academy of American Poets 
Fellowship, and Don't Let Me Be Lonely is currently a finalist for the 2005 
Lenore Marshal Poetry Prize for the best book of poetry published in 2004. 
She is co-editor of American Women Poets in the Twenty-First Century: Where 
Lyric Meets Language.  She teaches in the writing program at the University 
of Houston.
