Night:</b></font> The first Thursday of each month is Poetry Night
at The Yale Bookstore. One or more featured poets will read from
their work after which there will be an Open Mic during which audience
members may read original poetry or favorite poems by others.
Poetry Nights will start at 7:00 p.m. and close at 8:30 p.m. The
first Poetry Night will be October 7, when Tony Fusco will be the guest
of The Yale Bookstore.</h2><br>

Book:</b> Jessie s Garden, </i>Tony Fusco s new collection of
poems, contains many narrative poems dealing with his family and growing
up in West Haven</font></h2><br>

<font face="Times New Roman, Times"><b>About The Author:
</b></font>Tony Fusco, who received his master s degree in creative
writing from Southern Connecticut State University, works for the Yale
Medical Group at Yale University. He is editor of <i>Caduceus,
</i>the poetry journal published by the Yale Medical Group, and has been
editor of <i>Southern News </i>and the poetry anthologies <i>High Tide
</i>and <i>Sounds and Waves of West Haven. </i>He produces the
Citizen s Television program <i>West Shore Poets, </i>which has featured
local as well as nationally known writers over the past ten years.
His poems have appeared in <i>The Connecticut Review, Louisiana
Literature, The Red Rock Review, The South Carolina Review, Freshwater
Review, The Underwood Review, Folio, Elm, Long River Run, Twilight s
Ending, Laurels, Beanfeast, Vintage, </i>and <i>The Orphic Light.
</i>His poetry has won several prizes, including The Sunken Garden Poetry
Prize, The Eve Cummings Poetry Prize, The Leslie Leeds Contest, The
Southern Connecticut Graduate Poetry Contest, The Alan Ginsberg Poetry
Prize, The Pete Hamill Writing Challenge; and the Connecticut Poetry
Society and New England Poetry Club contests. His poem Harvest has
been nominated for a Pushcart Award. A member of the Connecticut
Poetry Society and the New England Poetry Club, Fusco was chairman of the
writers groups of the former West Haven Council of the Arts and the
Mlford Fine Arts Council.<br>
