Author Biography: Kien Nguyen was born in Nhatrang, South Vietnam, in
1967 to a Vietnamese mother and an American father. He left Vietnam in
1985 through the United Nations' Orderly Departure Program. After
spending time in a refugee camp in the Philippines, Nguyen arrived in the
United States. He is now living in California.<br><br>

</u>Author Suzanne Braun Levine will discuss her new book <i>Inventing
the Rest of Our Lives</i> Saturday, January 22, 2005 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM
at the New Haven Free Public Library. <br>

Ms. Levine will delve into what matters, what works as we inter the third
age of 50 <i>plusers</i>. She is a writer, editor, and nationally
recognized authority on women, media matters, and family issues.
The author of a book about fatherhood and numerous articles and essays,
Ms. Levine has also produced a Peabody Award-winning documentary about
American women. She has appeared on Oprah and the Today show and
has lectured extensively. <br>

This author event is another step in bringing together adults 50+ in
conversation in order to develop the content and style of the library’s
new <i>50+ Transition Center</i> which will be housed in the main branch
of the New Haven Free Public Library. The center promises to be an
inviting space encouraging conversation, sharing ideas, and pursuing
relevant topics of the 50+ generation. In addition, the <i>50+
Transition Center </i>will provide up to date information on numerous
topics such as traveling, re-careering, volunteering, job opportunities,
grand-parenting, health issues and much more.<br>
