speak at Yale's Battell Chapel at 4:30 on Friday, May 5th, in honor of
Rachel Carson. The talk will be followed by a reception at the Beinecke
Library and the opening of the exhibition "Rachel Carson: The World
and All the Wonder." The exhibition is drawn from Carson's
archive at the Library and contains more than 200 items, including
photographs, childhood drawings, early stories, the manuscripts and
research materials for her three books on the sea, and an exploration of
the making of <i>Silent Spring</i>.<br><br>
The talk and reception are free and open to the public.<br><br>

The exhibition runs through June 30 and can be seen Mondays through
