More Information About the Big Read:<br>
From April 13, 2007 to June 9th and 10th 2007,<br>
residents of the City of New Haven will come<br>
together to read one book: Harper Lee’s classic<br>
novel To Kill a Mockingbird. During this 8 week<br>
period New Haven will be buzzing with book<br>
discussions, performances, screenings and<br>
literary events sponsored by dozens of community<br>
partners. The Big Read will culminate on June<br>
9th and 10th, the opening weekend of the<br>
International Festival of Arts & Ideas, with the Big Read on the
Green.<br>
The Big Read New Haven is a collaboration<br>
between International Festival of Arts & Ideas<br>
and the New Haven Free Public Library and is<br>
funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.<br>
This event is part of The Big Read, an initiative<br>
of the National Endowment for the Arts in<br>
partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and
Arts<br>
