<b>About Poetry Night:</b> Each month The Yale Bookstore hosts a Thursday
Poetry Night.. One or more featured poets read from their work after
which there is an Open Mic during which audience members may read
original poetry or favorite poems by others. Poetry Nights will start at
6:00 p.m. and close no later than 8:30 p.m. <br>

<b>About The Poet: </b>Jordan Bishop lives in East Haven. His collection
entitled <i>Sleeping in on School Days </i>is a journey in poetry through
the realities faced by a young man of this generation. Adult and teen
issues are brought to light with the harsh language of reality, but
presented as they are experienced-in a state of awe. At times melancholy
and nostalgic, other times harsh, cynical, and all-too-real, <i>Sleeping
in on School Days </i>shows the range of experiences that are now common
for the average teenager. All the faults that reveal our humanity, or
lack thereof--child and domestic abuse, poverty, mental illness, teen
pregnancy, drug abuse and recovery--are shown here. <i>Sleeping in on
School Days </i>is sure to leave the reader shocked and reluctant to turn
the other cheek. <br><br>
