Ms. Jones is an acclaimed poet, born and raised in Arkansas. She
calls herself a "classic small-town girl" who went "to the
big city to have adventures and become a poet, princess, or pauper--well,
one out of three ain't bad." She has lived in New York City for the
past thirty years, where she has been involved in the city's poetry and
theater scenes, working with Mabou Mines, the internationally acclaimed
theater collective.

She has had two collections of poetry published, The Weather That
Kills and Femme du Monde, which was named one of the top ten
poetry collections in 2006. Many of her poems have been
anthologized, including one in Best American Poetry, 2000. She has also
been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
