John Hollander: A Draft of Light
Thursday, April 24th, 2008 @ 4.00PM - Whitney Humanities Center (53 Wall
Street)
The Whitney Humanities Center, Labyrinth Books, and the Yale Department
of English are proud to present distinguished poet John Hollander reading
from his new book A Draft of Light.

Often profoundly philosophical and, at the same moment, playful,
Hollander's poems are always the work of a master craftsman.

The author of eighteen books of poetry and ten books of criticism,
Hollander's many honors include the Bollingen Prize, the Levinson Prize,
and the MLA Shaughnessy Medal, as well as fellowships from the Guggenheim
Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, and the National Endowment for the
Arts. A former Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets and the
current poet laureate of Connecticut, Professor Hollander is the Sterling
Professor emeritus of English at Yale, where he is a beloved teacher of
poetry writing as well as of poetry reading and interpretation.

Advanced copies of A Draft of Light will be available for purchase
and signing after the reading.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information contact
