This is the final reading of the Spring season in the Guild's Second
Thursday series. It is free and open to the public.
Refreshments will be served.<br><br>
Mr. Andersen was born and raised in Connecticut, where he now lives and
works as a high school teacher in Storrs. His poetry has appeared
in many periodicals, including Cafe Review and the Connecticut
Review. He is the winner of the 2003 Working People's Poetry Award
and the 2004 People Before Profits Poetry Prize. His first
collection, Stand and Sing, was recently published. <br><br>
His poems celebrate work, as well they might. Before becoming a
teacher Mr. Anderson worked in a lumber yard, as a landscape laborer, a
mountain trail crew member, and as a farmhand.<br><br>
