The 2015-2016 season of the Yale Graduate Poets Reading Series commences on Thursday, October 8, at 7:00pm in Linsly-Chittenden Hall, Room 211, with a poetry reading by the
wondrous Srikanth Reddy. Professor Reddy will be sharing work from his forthcoming project Readings in World Literature; of this book-length poem, he writes, "This extended sequence is cast in the form of fragmentary lecture notes for an imaginary
course in the humanities, weaving together elements of academic satire, a survivor’s memoir, translations from obscure works of world literature, and a Borgesian journey through the underworlds of various cultures." English graduate student Chelsie Malyszek will serve
as Professor Reddy's opening act.

Srikanth Reddy is the author of two books of poetry—Facts for Visitors (2004) and Voyager (2011)—both published by the University of California Press. A book of criticism, Changing
Subjects: Digressions in Modern American Poetry, was published by Oxford University Press in 2012. He has received fellowships and awards from the Asian American Writer’s Workshop, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Creative Capital Foundation,
among others. A graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop and the doctoral program in English at Harvard University, Reddy is currently an Associate Professor of English a the University of Chicago.

Chelsie Malyszek is a second-year PhD student studying poetry and poetics. She is currently at work on a collection of poems based on Calvert Watkins' Dictionary of Indo-European
Roots. Her creative work follows the structure of etymology as a kind of poetic process in order to focus on the phonetic similarities present within etymological entries and reveal the buried linguistic relations of modern English words.
