<b>Tuesday, November 10, at 7:00pm in Linsly-Chittenden Hall, Room 211</b>, for a poetry reading by Yale Professor of English
<b>J. D. McClatchy</b>. Professor McClatchy will be reading from his recently published collection
<i>Plundered Hearts: New and Selected Poems</i>—which provides a survey of his aurally and intellectually rich<i> oeuvre
</i>from the last three decades.<i> </i>English graduate student <b>Sam Huber</b> will serve as Professor McClatchy's opening act.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">J. D. McClatchy is the author of seven previous collections of poetry and of three collections of prose. He has edited numerous other books, including
<i>The Vintage Book of Contemporary American Poetry</i>, and has written a number of opera libretti that have been performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, La Scala, and elsewhere. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, where
he served as president from 2009 to 2012. McClatchy teaches at Yale University and is editor of
<i>The Yale Review</i>.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Sam Huber is a first-year graduate student in English at Yale University. As an undergraduate at Yale he studied poetry with Louise
Glück and fiction with Michael Cunningham. He is a books columnist for <i>Feministing</i>, and his criticism can be found online at
<i>Bookforum</i>, <i>The Brooklyn Rail</i>, <i>Lambda Literary</i>, and elsewhere.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
