If you haven't done so already, it's worth investigating. To help them out a bit, I have ported a couple parts of that program a new tool that can be used within the OCLC Connexion client. This tool offers substantial assistance with the creation and modification of records in the LC/NACO Authority File; it is available for use by anyone who's interested. (Other than the fact that it's OCLC-specific, there's nothing system-specific about this tool; local system is irrelevant.) Documentation for the tool, including installation instructions and so on, is available here: http://files.library.northwestern.edu/public/oclc/documentation/ I would of course be happy to hear of any questions people might have about this tool or its use; parts of the documentation that are unclear or wanting; features that might be added to it; or anything else related to it. (For example, the automatic generation of a preliminary 678 field from bits of information scattered around the authority record was suggested only last week, resulting in a flurry of activity and soon enough a useful new feature. Keep the ideas coming!) Gary L.
