The December 2005 update to DCM Z1, available on the PCC Web site

provides guidelines on the use of subfield $u in the 670 field.
URIs in 670 fields are now only appropriate for use in subfield $u; they
should not be used in subfields $a or $b. The information in support of
this is at the above address under the subsection of 670 headed Internet
resources on p. 5 of the PDF<br><br>
CPSO continues to see new name authority records with URIs put in
subfields $a or $b. Please keep in mind this recent change in
practice when creating new authority records.<br><br>
