<p class="MsoPlainText">The prohibition on the creation of RDA undifferentiated names with guidelines on how to handle undoing the "last identity standing" on an AACR2 undifferentiated name authority record. (There have been some additional minor changes
to this instruction made after the deadline for the February Cataloger’s Desktop update. These will be incorporated into the April 2014 Cataloger’s Desktop update, and I have posted this version on the

<p class="MsoPlainText">A reminder that the former NACO conflict resolution practice of using a 500 field in a personal name authority record, when a variant in that record conflicts with an existing 1XX in another authority record, is no longer an option.
A suitable designation may be added to the variant to resolve the conflict, or, less desirable on account of BFM, but still possible, a suitable designation may be added to the 1XX in the other record to resolve the conflict.
