<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Here at more or less the start of a new calendar year, I wanted to take a moment to remind or inform you, as the case may be, of some information around restarts for our ArchivesSpace servers.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Every Wednesday morning, usually at 4am Eastern Time, the Test ArchivesSpace server is restarted. Some weeks this regular planned restart includes updates to plugins or configuration changes, but there is
no notice sent out for it.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">On the first and third Wednesdays of each month, the Prod ArchivesSpace server is restarted. As with the Test restart, there is no notice sent out for the regular planned Prod restart. On the other hand, while
there is no distinctive notice sent out about that restart per se and no notice sent out on this list when there are plugin or configuration changes, these changes are to be mentioned in Library IT's weekly change email. (See https://web.library.yale.edu/lit/changes
for past emails dating back to March 2019.)<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">If the servers need to be restarted other than according to these schedules and if the restart is not urgent, the notice to this list will be two business days for Prod and 24 hours for Test. If the restart
is urgent, notices will be handled according to the situation at the time, and may only be as the restart is happening or after it has completed. (If you prefer Latin, the notices may be in media res or even post hoc.)<o:p></o:p></span></p>
