I wanted to provide a brief update on an unexpected ArchivesSpace outage that occurred over the weekend in case it impacted any of your work.</div>

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 9:00 PM ET, ASpace experienced a Solr connection failure due to a known daylight saving time (DST) bug (see
<a href="https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/ANW/issues/ANW-1229" id="LPlnk831525" class="OWAAutoLink" title="https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/ANW/issues/ANW-1229">
ANW-1229</a>, <a href="https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/browse/ANW-2120" id="LPlnk245713" class="OWAAutoLink" title="https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/browse/ANW-2120">
ANW-2120</a>). Solr is responsible for indexing within the system, and while ArchivesSpace itself remained technically running, it was largely unusable, particularly for API-driven processes.</div>

Since the application was still responding at a basic level, Lyrasis' automated monitoring did not detect the failure, and the issue went unflagged until it was manually reported by me.</div>

Lyrasis applied a fix at 6:50 PM ET on Sunday, March 9, and full functionality was restored by 7:22 PM ET. We are reviewing monitoring gaps for sites running ASpace versions that are still vulnerable to this bug. If you notice any lingering issues or have questions
