Dear Carillon fans,

Those of you who are loyal Yale Carillon Summer Series concertgoers might remember me from the 2007 season, when I was a Summer Carillonneur. While I am sure that you have been enjoying the wonderful series Keri and Lynnli have put together this year, I wanted to share an additional event that might interest you, given your love of music.

The Yale-China Association, where I currently work, is presenting a concert of Hong Kong primary and secondary school singers at the Yale School of Music¡¯s Norfolk Chamber Music Festival next Tuesday. We would love to see you there ¨C and there will be no conflict with any carillon concerts! See below and attachments for more information.

Have a great summer,
Brendan Woo

(Norfolk, CT) ¨C The Yale-China Association in collaboration with the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival presents a special event this 2012 season. The St. Paul¡¯s Co-educational College Mixed-Voice Choir and Primary School Concert Choir from Hong Kong are performing in this benefit concert for the Yale-China Association with a unique choral repertoire celebrating milestones in Yale-China¡¯s history of 111 years.
Tuesday night¡¯s concert will feature sacred choral music to commemorate Yale-China¡¯s missionary roots, followed by pieces by Yale composers (including Ives and Hindemith), works by American and Chinese composers, and finally, choral pieces that infuse traditional folk songs from both cultures to create a cross-cultural medley, inspired by the bidirectional work of Yale-China¡¯s programs today.
