Message-ID: [image: Yale Summer Carillon Series 2025 Banner.png] Dear friends, Things really do seem to be heating up in New Haven? *Our Summer Series finally kicks off in Branford Courtyard TONIGHT, June 20 at 7pm, with the dazzling Paul Stelben*! As always, please spread the word far and wide to all your friends and family; all are welcome, and the more the merrier. The gates at Branford College open at 6:30pm, with the performance running from 7:00-8:00pm. Bring a picnic basket, blanket and/or lawn-chairs along! Some of our guildmembers will also be around to help you or answer any questions you may have?spot us by our blue lanyards and pink nametags. We love to chat, so please don?t be shy! Nothing compares to the feeling of being bathed in the sounds of bells in the open air, enjoying the evening together with others. But, if you are unable to make it, *some concerts may be livestreamed and the recording posted afterwards (depending on our recording engineer?s availability) on our YouTube channel*, at https://www.youtube.com/@yaleguild. No guarantees on which concerts will be streamed and recorded, though, so we recommend always aiming for attendance in person to avoid disappointment! The Guild is also delighted to offer *tours of Harkness Tower* as part of the Summer Carillon Concert Series, prior to most Friday concerts. These tours are strictly capped at 15 persons per tour, on a first-come, first-served basis. The tour will begin promptly at 5:30pm (meeting at the corner of High St and Library Walk), and last about half an hour. The tour requires climbing over 130 steps to the carillon playing cabin, spread over the tour duration. Please ensure your friends and family the Summer Series mailing list here for information about these tours and the series in general. Tours will take place throughout the summer, so don't fret if you don't get a spot this time round! You can also request an ordinary tour (for days other than Fridays) on our site: http://yalecarillon.org/request-tour. We have attached Paul?s program for tonight to this email. He will be doubly showcasing his prowess as a musician by performing a number of his own awe-inspiring arrangements for carillon. His program notes and bio also follow below; his love for the instrument and its music is truly infectious. > Many people experience the carillon simply passing by, moving through the > world, just as I first did here at Yale. My goal is to grab their > attention, both with a compelling playing style and with unexpected songs. > All of these selections are arrangements of mine, originally inspired by > different people I interact with in life: friends, family, students, etc. > As these songs have become more meaningful to me, they have come to > represent for me not just moving through the world but moving through life: > searching within myself, connecting with others, grounding myself, > reflecting on the world around me, and renewing my sense of commitment.
