[Coll_Collab] Workshop on the use of primary sources in teaching

You are invited to attend a workshop sponsored by the Collections
Collaborative on Friday, November 9th, 1:00 to 4:30 at the McDougal
Center, Room 119A. The goals of this workshop are 1) for
librarians/archivists/curators to learn from each other re. methods
of interacting with faculty and graduate students to integrate
primary sources into courses and 2) to provide an opportunity for
Yale faculty members and graduate students to share information about
how they have integrated primary sources into their courses - what
has worked well and what hasn't? what would facilitate the process?
The schedule for the afternoon will be as follows:
1:00-2:00 p.m. Pre-session for librarians/archivists/curators
Presentations by George Miles (BRBL), Diane Kaplan (MSSA), Pamela
Franks (YUAG), Lisa Ford and Julia Marciari-Alexander (YCBA) on
techniques they have used to engage faculty, followed by discussion
2:00 - 2:30 p.m. Coffee, cold drinks, and refreshments available in
McDougal Rm. 119A
2:30 - 3:45 p.m. Faculty panel, facilitated by Bill Rando of the
Graduate Teaching Center
John Mack Faragher, Arthur Unobskey Professor of American History
Seth Fein, Assistant Professor of History
Janice Carlisle, Professor of English
3:45 - 4:30 Follow-up discussion
