Info Request About Emerging Pupa

Can someone recommend a reference that describes the (a) process that a lep
follows when emerging from the chrysalis?  Must they emerge fully before
they pump fluids into their wings, or does this begin while beginning to
emerge from the chrysalis?  Of course, now my curiousity is peaked and I
will try to observe as well as read about the process!
