	Have any of you seen the newest copy of Mary Engelbreit's August-Sept 
issue of Home Companion? On page 40 she begins an article called Bugs  Out on 
a Whim. The article written in her usual sweet,charming way gives the reader( 
with pictures of children) directions for capturing,killing and pinning 
butterflies ! I was appalled that one who admires and preserves the many 
lovely treasures of yesteryear would encourage the destruction of one of 
Nature's most precious creatures! For years I have taught  youngsters that we 
are all responsible for providing a safe place for all creatures and that all 
are important to the Earth. She now conveys the idea that it is ok to destroy 
butterflies (and bugs too) to a reading public of thousands! I have already 
written her a note of my disapproval.
	Take a peek at it on the newstand and let me know what you think!
