Just a quick note to possible field trippers, I was on West Rock with
two other pals last weekend (1 May) and the butterflying was good,
for that early date. I hope we'll see all of the following that
were present last weekend:

Orangetip (Anthocaris midea) 5+
Spring Azure (Celastrina ladon) 5+
Pine Elfin (Incisalia niphon) 1
Brown Elfin (Incisalia augustinus) 1
Juniper Hairstreak (Mitoura grynea) 10+
Juvenals Duskywing (Erynnis juvenalis) 5+
Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) 1
Spicebush Swallowtail (Papilio troilus) 1
Cabbage White (Pieris rapae) 2

In addition, three West Virginia Whites (Pieris virginiensis) at
the Totoket Mountain colony, so they're clearly still extant there.

Best, Larry
