I'm a little surprised at how many people were still seeing GSFs. Shapiro (1971) gave Sept. 15 as the late date for New York. Even about 10 years ago, Sept. 25 would have been considered exceptional. Now both NY and NJ have records into October. An increase in observers is certainly responsible in part. That looks to be the case now -- or it's this year. Steve Walter
