Thunder moths

Greetings - It's nice that people are seeing the occasional Mourning Cloak and anglewings here and there, but if you were into moths, you'd be getting more bang for your buck! Fifteen species, one of them a new one for my yard, showed up at my sheet light last night. They don't mind the thunderstorms. [please excuse the cross posting on LEPS-L]

Mustard Sallow (Pyreferra hesperidago) - abundant
Figure-eight Sallow (Psaphida resumens)
Bi-colored Woodgrain (Morrisonia evicta)
Fawn Sallow (Copipanolis styracis) - one of my favorite sallows
Hemina Pinion (Lithophane hemina)
Sordid (it's not that ugly!) Pinion (Lithophane petulca) - new for my yard
Speckled Green Fruitworm (Orthosia hibisci)
The Scribbler (Cladara atroliturata)
The Half Wing (Phigalia titea) - abundant!
Small Phigalia (Phigalia strigataria)
Eupithecia sp.

And at least four other tiny spp that I didn't get around to id-ing.

Also my first orthoptera of the season - Tetrix ornata (Ornate Grouse Locust) - but that's sort'a cheating since they overwinter as adults.

Best -

John
