All -
My big plans for a morning in the field were curtailed quite a bit, but I did manage to hit the Zinnia patch at Scott's Farm on Rt 153 in Essex - midway between the Essex Steam Train depot and Bokum Corners.
Still quite a few Silver-spotted Skippers (30+), two Monarchs, a gorgeous male Black Swallowtail, a few Cabbage Whites and Peck's Skippers, and a very fresh HUGE Painted Lady (V. cardui). See photo - it's in a very large Zinnia blossom . Hank Golet saw dozens of mixed Ladies there last weekend, so they must be moving along (south?).
