Moth-ers and others,
Last night, amidst the hordes, I found two beautifuls.
The Beautiful Wood Nymph (Eudryas grata) and the Beautiful Eutelia
(Eutelia pulcherrima). Also after conferring with JH I realized that I
too have many male gypsy moths flying in my area. For three days they
were very abundant but now have dropped off.
Off topic I want to mention that my porch light this year is
bringing many adult antlions and dobsonflies, always a treat to see
these critters. And also a good year for the humongous Grapevine Beetle
(Pelidnota punctata), which is a tan beetle about the size of a sugar
cube with six black spots on the back. Well that's MY porch light.
