Hi All,
A new wave of Red Admirals came thru the yard this morning, count in about 30 minutes passing within 15 feet of my deck totaled 21.
There were also 3 Amer. Ladies 2 ? marks.

I headed up to the hills of Shelton for my yearly check on one of the GREATEST Dragonflies in CT., the Arrowhead Spiketail, always found on 6/12 of each year.
Two males & one female where seen, this is a very large Dragonfly wih bright Yellow
Arrow head pattern along the top of its abe, to me the best Dragonfly in the State.
Sorry but I can NOT give out the location, its on Water Company property & can only be entered with written approval.

Back to Butterflies along the mile & a half route there were so many real beat up Red Admirals a pocket counter would be reqired to count them, there were also many real beat up Amer. ladies & afew ? marks, many Skippers , 2 Viceroys,4 new Mourning Cloaks, tons of wood satyr & one fresh Appalachian Brown, early! didn't have time to ID all the skippers but there were many.

_________CONT.

I also came upon a hen turkey & 7 young , no wonder they are making a come back, this is the ONLY species of bird that have young that can fly when there babies no bigger then a Ruff Grouse.
Well enough of me , hope you enjoy the information, I'm hear to stay.

Bob Muller
