Common Checkered Skipper

Adding my 2 cents to the discussion: The only other Common Checkered Skipper 
I have seen in CT., besides the ones at this year's Bio-day in Guilford, was 
seen in Salem on July 10th. As I recall, and I am sure my photos would show, 
the butterfly was in good to excellent condition. I am not aware of any 
Malvaceae growing in the area, but as there was a farm there years ago there 
could be some Hollyhocks growing there. Rich Chyinski
