>From Hank Golet, 8/10/02,  On a circuit of Harkness State Park in Waterford this morning the following butterflies were seen.

Black Swallowtail 4
Spicebush Swallowtail 2
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail 1
Cabbage White 20
Orange Sulfur 10
Gray Hairstreak 1
Pearl Crescent 75
Viceroy 1
Monarch 2
Common Wood Nymph 4
Silver-spotted Skipper 2
Tawny-edged Skipper 15
Pecks Skipper 6
Dun Skipper 1
Least Skipper 3
Broad-winged Skipper 10

Joe Pye Weed and New York Ironweed were peaking,  along with Purple Loosestrife.  Black Swallowtails were flying around an area where there is a considerable patch of Mock Bishop's-weed but I did not see any caterpillars (If they use it).
