>From Hank Golet, 7/9 I found his butterfly a couple of hours ago at a place in Lyme that I go to quite often.  At first I thought it was an Eyed Brown but then  it didn't have the inward tooth on the hindwing basal line that Glassberg points to.  So,,,,,,,,,,, I thought it was an Appalachian but the basal line is not really straight and there are two eyes in the bottom circle eye ring which all the books show on the Eyed......except Eastern Butterflies ( Peterson's new version) that has two spots in the picture of the Appalachian.  And actually the picture in Eastern looks a lot like my bug so for now I'll stick with the Appalachian.  Comments welcome. I am going back now to try for a better image  than the one below.
