Butterflies - East Haddam, 7/17

Hi all -

    A quick bike ride around Echo Farms S.P. in Moodus (a part of East Haddam) found low numbers (what else is new?) but a few nice things;

Black Swallowtail (male)
Monarch (my first of the year for CT)
Southern Cloudywing (worn but not tattered)
Buckeye (gorgeous)
Great Spangled Fritillaries (mostly in rough shape - one was missing almost its entire right hindwing)
Dun Skipper - 5+
Delaware Skipper - 2
Crossline Skipper - 3
Northern Broken-Dash - 2
Broad-winged Skipper - 1 (in the phragmites between the Discovery Daycare Center and the little pond)
