My 3-1/2 year old daughter came running yesterday: "Mommy, there are
two brown butterflies in the yard!"
We looked around, and sure enough, found a skipper and a hairstreak. We
then pondered Glassberg...we think the skipper was a Southern
Cloudywing, we're less sure about the hairstreak. We didn't get to
photograph it--our impression was that it was dark brown, with one clear
orange spot on the hindwing. Possibly Banded? We thought White M, but
I notice that description reads "Brilliant iridescent blue above"--I
think we would have noticed that.
