Glenn Williams inquired over butterfly releases. The North American
Butterfly Association's arguements against releases as stated on their link
are not based on any scientific study whatsoever, and thus consist primarily
of hype. I recommend going to the website of the International Butterfly
Breeders Association. I believe it's www.ibba.org or something like that.

I also published a statement via the Washington Area Butterfly Club's
website. You can read my comments at:

The theory that butterflies transported interstate and released far from
their place of origin get "confused" and lose their navigational abilities is
100% unfounded in science. To the contrary, results of recent field studies
announced over several internet sources (check Monarch Watch or dplex-l
archives) indicate that butterflies know where they are despite being
transported great distances. We underestimate the abilities of nature's
smaller creatures.
