CBA Annual Spring Meeting

Butterflies of Connecticut and Their Host Plants

Presented by Wade & Sharon Wander

Saturday, April 24, 2004
1PM at the CT Agricultural Experiment Station in New Haven

Many of us are familiar with the wide variety of nectar plants for
butterflies. However, what do their caterpillars eat? The Wades will
answer this question in this lively presentation. We learned of them and
this talk by reading highly enthusiastic reviews from people who have seen
them and know that our members and friends will enjoy this, too.

We plan to have some butterfly host plants for sale at this meeting - it's
getting time to be planting!

Wade and Sharon Wander will be driving down from NJ for this presentation.
They are environmental consultants, in which role they conduct Threatened
and Endangered species surveys, flora and fauna inventories, and wetland
studies, prepare environmental impact statements, etc. They also teach
short courses in vegetation identification and are charter members of
NABA-North Jersey. They frequently lead NABA field trips, and have
presented numerous slide shows on butterflies and other natural-history
topics to NABA and other groups.
