Tuesday, July 6th- A total of 24 species of butterflies were present at the
above referenced site. The list for the day is as follows:

form of this species and different from the "Appalachian-like" Tiger
Swallowtails that emerged in early June)
Spicebush Swallowtail (1)
Cabbage White (19)
Clouded Sulphur (9)
Orange Sulphur (3)
American Copper (1)
Eastern Tailed Blue (2)
Great Spangled Fritillary (5)
Aphrodite Fritillary (1) (my first of the year)
Pearl Crescent (2)
Baltimore Checkerspot (1)
American Lady (2)
Little Wood Satyr (1)
Common Wood Nymph (7)
Monarch (1)
Silver-spotted Skipper (5)
Hoary Edge (1)
Least Skipper (1)
European Skipper (7)
Peck's Skipper (2) (one very worn, one very fresh)
Crossline Skipper (3) (my first ones of the year)
Little Glassywing (12)
Delaware Skipper (5)
Dun Skipper (1)
The Aphrodite Fritillary was nectaring on Common Milkweed with a couple of
Great Spangled Fritillaries. To find it, go straight up the main path from the
parking area to the back of the preserve and turn left on the continuation of
the main path. Look for the large Common Milkweed patch on the right side of
the path in front of the grove of trees.
