In my yard this weekend: a couple of American Ladies, a few Cabbage Whites, a Peck's Skipper and a Tawny Edged Skipper.
Boy, that John Himmelman is a busy guy. Opened the Main Street News for this week, and there he is again! Short notice, but on Wednesday June 8, he'll be leading "A 'Mothing' We Will Go: Moth Talk and Watching Event" 8:30 PM at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme. Slide lecture followed by evening of "mothing", i.e. "luring moths out of the sky for temporary examination and study." The calendar says "Bring a bottle of wine to enjoy under the summer stars. $7, $5 members. To register, call Matt at 434-5542 ext 111 or email matt at flogris.org, 96 Lyme St., Old Lyme." Then it says "$7 adults, $6 seniors & students, $4 ages 6-12. Rain date June 9." Sounds like fun!
And by now everyone has Field Day, Saturday June 18, on their calendars, right?!
