I thought some of you out there might be interested in this. I planted two Hackberry trees in my yard five or so years ago thinking that because I once had a Tawny Emperor there it could happen again and I might get some egg laying. This morning, from a distance it appeared that the top of one of the trees was dead, seeing no leaves on it. Upon closer inspection over 100 Mourning Cloak caterpillars were found busily eating away.
The ruler is in inches.
