On Monday, 9/5 I visited the north end of Valley Service Rd. in North Haven
where I found the following butterflies:
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (1)
Spicebush Swallowtail (3)
Cabbage White (17)
Clouded Sulphur (3)
Orange Sulphur (5)
Eastern Tailed Blue (38)
Pearl Crescent (16)
American Lady (1)
Painted Lady (1)
Viceroy (2)
Monarch (3)
Silver-spotted Skipper (2)
Wild Indigo Duskywing (1)
Least Skipper (5)
Leonard's Skipper (3)
Peck's Skipper (3)
The Leonard's Skippers were all on the dirt road running west from the paved
road to the gas pipeline right of way and then west to the river. As is
normally the case, they were nectaring on the Joe Pye Weed.

PS- On the way home, I stopped at Vinny's Nursery on S. Colony Rd. in
Wallingford where I found a fourth Leonard's Skipper nectaring on the butterfly
bushes behind the building.
