Found a writhing pale green chrysalis with gold spots on low vegetation in our meadow on 6/12. It was moving so violently that it caused the vegetation and leaf litter to shake and rustle. I figured that a vole was causing all the ruckus, and was startled to find it was a chrysalis. Thinking it was an American lady, which in past years we've had feeding on pearly everlasting nearby, I brought it indoors. It emerged on 6/19 or 20 while we were away (our cat/lep sitter didn't notice it clinging to the container's screening, so we found it today when we returned home). Surprise! It is a Compton tortoiseshell.
Also had two great spangled fritillaries emerge (6/17 and 6/20).
