Interesting and curious about the Little Glassywing...I observed one (a fresh female) yesterday morning on butterfly bushes in our backyard in Peabody (north suburban Boston), Mass...I was really never aware of the possibility of a second brood this far north...Both "The Butts of Canada" and Opler's Eastern Guide report (paraphrasing) "one brood in the 'North', a second brood in the 'South'..." I would not expect that any part of New England would be referrable to the "South"...
 
Is a September flight of this species "normal", "occasional" etc.???

8 people were on the CBA field trip today at Haley. The rain delay was worth the wait as 24 species were seen.
Butterflies seen:
Spicebush Swallowtail
Cabbage White
Orange and Clouded Sulphur
American Copper
White M Hairstreak  (We got to see the dorsal side photo attached)
Gray Hairstreak
Azure
Eastern Tailed Blue
Great Spangled Fritillary
Pearl Crescent
Question Mark
Buckeye
Red Admiral
Monarch  (Only 6)
Wood Nymph
Silver Spotted Skipper
Skippers: Least, Leonards, Tawny Edge, Pecks, Little Glassy Wing, Zabulon, Broadwing.
Late for the Glassy Wing but no doubt on the ID.
And on the way home in Waterford Cloudless Sulphur.
