Just returned from a few days in New York State to find a happy garden that had received a lot of rain :-)
On the buddleia today:
1 Cabbage White
2-3 Monarchs
1 fresh looking Spicebush Swallowtail
1 dark Swallowtail--very worn, missing parts of wings, couldn't tell whether it was Black or Spicebush
1 Peck's Skipper
1 Tawny-Edged Skipper
1 Clearwing Moth
around the yard:
1 Tiger Swallowtail
in the milkweed patch:
3 Monarch eggs, 2 caterpillars
Diane
home in Chester
p.s. Saw pretty much the same things in NY as here--in Scarborough, also saw a male Zabulon Skipper, in Kerhonkson, saw a nice Sphinx moth on buddleia--I'll try to ID it from John Himmelman's website as soon as I upload the photo!
