Yesterday, July 3, we (Jim Springer and Ahmet Baytas) visited
Macricostas Section of Steep Rock Land Trust, Hollenbeck Preserve and
Goshen WMA in Litchfield County. Peary Stafford kindly joined us at
Macricostas and Hollenbeck.
NOTES:
*34 species total.
*Observing so many Bronze Coppers at Goshen (and photographing a couple
of very fresh females) was a treat for us New Jerseyites. It was only
last week that more than 20 of us had seen our life or state Bronze
Copper in NJ...It was the only confirmed record in northern NJ for over
a decade, as far as I know.
*It was very surprising to see only one hairstreak, despite all the
milkweed and dogbane.
