Diane,

Shouldn't be "The End" quite yet...I have found Clouded Sulphur
(extremely dwarfed and "subarctic looking" in our backyard garden on
Dec. 2...Keep looking...Also, the "Hibernators" may still make an
occasional (quick) appearance on a warm afternoon...

Klots also records in his (1951) book about finding "six species of
Nymphalis and Polygonia in a rubbish dump in February (Klots was from
Putnam, CT so this was probably in CT)...Not suggesting anyone wants to
do this, but...And Holland (1931) recorded a situation in which HW was
investigating a dump, when a passer-by took pity on him in his apparent
situation and invited him to a nice, warm lunch...

Alex

Subject: my last butterfly?

I didn't write at the time, because I hoped it wasn't the end, but I saw
a Cabbage White on Halloween, heading onto Route 9 in Chester.
