Anyone ever seen a Gulf fritillary?

I have a friend in NC who has had a visit from a Gulf Fritillary which he 
thinks is quite unusual...

If I remember correctly, someone posted recently to this site, about a GF 
being reported in either NY or NJ.

I wish I could remember the details...Anyone?
