West Rock Ridge St. Park

On Saturday, 6/28, Bill Banks and I visited the Lake Wintergreen section of  
West Rock Ridge St Park where we found the following species of  butterflies:
 
Tiger Swallowtail (1)
Cabbage White (10)
Coral Hairstreak (2)
Eastern Tailed Blue (1)
Summer Azure (1)
Great Spangled Fritillary (8)
Question Mark (1)
Appalachian Brown (1)
Little Wood Satyr (2)
Common Wood Nymph (1) (My first of the year)
Silver-spotted Skipper (1)
Hoary Edge (1)
Southern Cloudywing (5)
Least Skipper (1)
European Skipper (6)
Crossline Skipper (1) (My first of the year)
Little Glassywing (13)
Dun Skipper (1)
 
Later that day, I walked along the top of the ridge from the parkway  south 
to the overlook where I found very few butterflies.  The list  for that area is 
as follows:
 
Tiger Swallowtail (1)
Spicebush Swallowtail (1)
Cabbage White (1)
Edwards' Hairstreak (1) (My first of the year)
Banded Hairstreak (2)
Hoary Edge (3)
 
Lenny Brown
Wallingford
