Lighthouse Point Park butterflies

On Saturday, 9/20,  Dori Sosensky, John Paton, Bill Yule  and I found the 
following butterflies at Lighthouse Point Park, New Haven.  

Black Swallowtail (4)
Spicebush Swallowtail (1) (very worn)
Cabbage White (14)
Clouded Sulphur (25)
Orange Sulphur (14)
Cloudless Sulphur (1)
Gray Hairstreak (1)
Summer Azure (1)
Variegated Fritillary (1)
Pearl Crescent (2)
Mourning Cloak (1)
American Lady (5)
Painted Lady (1)
Red Admiral (1)
Common Buckeye (10)
Monarch (20)
Common Checkered Skipper (1)
Fiery Skipper (11) All males
Sachem (8) 6 males, 2 females
 
Both the Variegated Fritillary and the Common Checkered Skipper were  
nectaring on dandelions on the lawn in the vicinity of the hawk  watch.
