Sure wish I'd had my camera today.  My daughter and I went letterboxing off the Airline Trail in the Salmon River State Forest.  Part of our journey took us through a large meadow, and it was full of skippers!  There were at least three or four different types--I think there was Peck's, but unfortunately I still can't tell the difference between European and Least (sorry, Clay, if you read this--I know you tried!) despite getting a VERY good look--there was even a mating pair!!  Which was interesting, because I definitely saw a difference between the two that were coupled.  Also saw several medium dark butterflies--my first thought was Common Sootywing, but a closer look revealed white markings along the top (two on each side with one below), and a sort of dusted look on the outside, which makes me suspect Southern Cloudywing.

My definite sightings:
Common Ringlet (3, my FOY)
Cabbage White (2)
Great Spangled Fritillary (1-2, my FOY)
Silver Spotted Skipper (1)
Little Wood Satyr (5, my FOY)

And then, at the Ruby & Elizabeth Cohen Woodland property, I saw my FOY Red Spotted Purple.
