Hi folks, the CBA West Rock field trip this morning was probably cloudier than all had anticipated, but in between there were a few blips of sun and the 20ish participants collectively saw 8 butterfly species: Spring Azure (Celastrina ladon), several; Eastern Tailed Blue (Cupido comyntas), 1; Gray Hairstreak (Strymon melinus), 1; Olive Hairstreak (Callophrys gryneus), 1; Falcate Orangetip (Anthocharis midea), 1; Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes), 1; American Lady (Vanessa virginiensis), 1; Mourning Cloak (Nymphalis antiopa), 1. Also many tent caterpillar nests and a variety of smaller microlepidoptera. Best, Larry
